ODOT unveils local construction season plans

| April 8, 2025

NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (April 8, 2025) – Drivers are learning where to expect major road work in the area for this year’s construction season.

ODOT District 11 Public Information Officer Lauren Borell says 17 projects totaling $27 million are planned for Tuscarawas County this year. Those include four pavement, seven bridge and culvert, and six safety projects.

The biggest is a $3.6-million roadway rehab project on US 250 near McCauley Drive, which will have traffic in both directions down to one lane at times.

ODOT also has a $3.4-million project with the Tuscarawas County Engineer’s office to widen nearly three miles of Dover Zoar Road from the Dover city limits to Schneiders Crossing.

Borell says drivers can “stay in the know” at ohgo.com and by subscribing to emails for travel updates at the bottom of transportation.ohio.gov.

More information on each project can be found by searching the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Construction Guide HERE.
