Officers recover suspected narcotics during drug raid in Dover

| January 3, 2022

DOVER (WJER) (Jan. 3, 2021) – A recent drug bust could net the offenders a harsher sentence because the house is within 1,000 feet of South Elementary School. Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Detective Cole Morris says the L.E.A.D. Drug Task Force, sheriff’s office, and Dover police executed a search warrant at 120 South Avenue on Dec. 29th. No one has been arrested yet as investigators are still waiting for lab results on the pills that were seized. Morris suspects they were prescription narcotics but won’t elaborate until after the lab tests. He says the offender or offenders could face felony drug trafficking charges with added penalties because the residence is near an elementary school. Morris says an adult male and two juveniles were home when the search warrant was executed, and a female arrived on the scene during the raid. He says police took suspected narcotics and cash as evidence.
