Outdoor art gallery to host ‘Healing Exhibit’
NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (Feb. 6, 2024) – The Tuscarawas Arts Partnership is taking submissions for the next installment of the Artagain Alley outdoor art gallery.
Executive Director Wilma Mullet says they’re seeking visual and written works from individuals impacted by the Tusky Valley charter bus tragedy for a yearlong display called “The Community Healing Exhibit.”
“I believe the arts have the power to communicate something that we often can’t say… but it also has the power to draw people together because there may be others who are going through grieving or healing where they don’t know how to share what they feel but they’ll see someone else’s work, and they’ll say ‘I can see that.’”
There’s a link to the entry form on the Arts Partnership’s Facebook page with submissions accepted through March 29th and the display going up sometime in May. Mullet anticipates a temporary showcase for all the entries if there’s more interest than available spaces.
“So maybe we’ll find a space that’s big enough to accommodate for all of the original works so we can have a display for a month or two or something where those original works are at least out that the public can come see [them].”
