Patrol identifies woman killed in Friday afternoon crash

| June 4, 2022

DOVER TWP (WJER) (June 4, 2022) – The state highway patrol says a New Philadelphia woman died Friday afternoon in a crash on state Route 800.

A press release from the New Philadelphia Post lists 67-year-old Linda Walls as the victim of the single-vehicle crash that happened around 4:12 pm just south of the Dover Dam. Troopers say her northbound Saturn Vue traveled off the right side of the road, striking two utility poles and a mailbox before overturning in an embankment and hitting several trees. They say Walls wasn’t wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, which remains under investigation.
