Prep work starting soon for new inclusive playground at Tuscora Park

NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (Aug. 1, 2025) – A new, inclusive playground at Tuscora Park for children of all abilities is on track to open by next summer.
New Philadelphia high school teacher Preston Cornell is leading the fundraising effort.
She says the Tuscora Park Foundation has about $370,000 toward a $450,000 goal. Donations to the playground can be made through the Tuscora Park Foundation.
Mayor Joel Day says work will start after Labor Day to make way for the new playground. The city will remove the existing playground equipment adjacent to the train and roller coaster rides.
