Rockets win coach pitch opener

| August 4, 2023

In their season debut, the Rockets Coach Pitch team defeated their opponent, the Belmont County Eagles 28-0 in three innings. The victory was a true team effort seeing all of the 17-person Rockets roster make it on base at least once. Defensively, the dynamic duo of Tyler Ross and Aidan McClain connected for four of the nine outs, and shortstop Rachael Russell had a key stop in the third inning to secure the Rockets’ victory.

The Rockets were led by Ross (a homerun, three singles, and 8 RBIs) and McClain (a triple, a double, two singles, and 4 RBIs) offensively. Chris Daniska added three doubles and a single as well as 2 RBIs, while Russell and Kadyn Cook-Linamen both added three singles, a double, and multiple RBIs for the victors. Matthew Toole Jr. went 4-4 at the plate, hitting four singles.

The Rockets are coached by Jamie Randolph, Shelby Green, Stephanie Arnold, and Matthew Toole, Sr.

The Rockets will back in action on Saturday, Aug. 5, at The First Annual Shane York Memorial Softball Invite and Wednesday, Aug. 9, at Dover City Park (Fields 7 and 8).
