Run for Home Returns This Weekend in New Philadelphia and Dover
NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (April 10,2026) — Race weekend is here for Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital’s 19th annual Run for Home, bringing hundreds of runners and walkers to the streets and parks of New Philadelphia and Dover.
Race Director Matt Ritzert says more than 500 participants are expected to take part in the combined events throughout the weekend.
Activities begin Saturday morning at Tuscora Park with Family Day, which includes a free kids’ run. The schedule continues with a one-mile fun run, followed by 5K and 10K races.
The weekend wraps up Sunday morning with the half marathon and team relay, starting at 7:30 a.m. Runners will travel from Tuscora Park to Dover City Park, finishing inside Woody Hayes Quaker Stadium.
Ritzert notes the race route is different this year, and drivers should expect road and lane closures from 7:30 a.m. through late morning, particularly in the Dover area.
Registration remains open throughout race weekend. More information is available at runforhome.org.
Proceeds from the Run for Home benefit Habitat for Humanity of East Central Ohio.
