Seat opens up on Uhrichsville council
UHRICHSVILLE (WJER) (Dec. 22, 2023) – One of the city’s at-large council seats is up for grabs.
Wendy Mann stepped down from hers Monday, writing in her resignation letter that she felt she had done all she could on city council and needed to focus on school, work, and family. Council President Buck Cottrell says interested residents have until January 8th to bring or mail their resume and a letter of interest addressed to the clerk of council to city hall.
“At our January 11th meeting, we will go over whoever sent their resumes in and then appoint somebody.”
There was some confusion at first about whether outgoing Mayor Mark Haney or council was responsible for filling the opening. Tuscarawas County Prosecutor Ryan Styer weighed in and cleared things up, although Cottrell encourages anyone who already applied through the mayor’s office to submit another copy of the paperwork to the clerk.
The appointment runs through 2025.
