Signups begin for community-driven Christmas assistance program

| September 1, 2022

NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (Sept. 1, 2022) – T4C is accepting applications for the next installment of its Share-A-Christmas holiday assistance program.

Co-chair Agnes Swigert says paper applications are at all areas schools and libraries, or you can apply online through T4C’s website, t4conline.net.

“This year applications will be accepted from families who have children birth to 19 living in the home and for home one has legal custody as well as anybody else who meets the financial criteria,” she says. “For those who are deemed eligible, they receive clothing vouchers, food, and toys for children through age 12.”

Completed applications are due October 15th and can be emailed to sac@t4conline.net, mailed to the T4C office at 1458 Fifth Street NW in New Philadelphia, or deposited in the outdoor drop box near the main entrance. Swigert says there will be no in-person sign-ups again this year because of the COVID threat.

“Now again this year and we started this process after COVID, recipients won’t be able to choose specific toys for their children. Instead, they’ll be pre-packaged for the family unit.”

T4C is also accepting monetary donations to support the program, which is in its 47th year. Share-A-Christmas toy drives begin the week after Thanksgiving.
