NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (Nov. 11, 2022) – The case against the city man accused of breaking into his neighbor’s apartment and fatally stabbing him is heading to the grand jury.

33-year-old Corey Harshey remains in the Tuscarawas County Jail on a $500,000 bond after waiving his right to a preliminary hearing before Municipal Court Judge Nan Von Allman, who bound the case over to Common Pleas Court for further proceedings.

Preliminary charges against Harshey for the October 28th home invasion and attack on 44-year-old Nathan Green in his North First Street apartment include murder, aggravated murder, felonious assault, and aggravated burglary. Green was reportedly stable later that morning but succumbed to complications from his injuries the following Tuesday. Tuscarawas County Prosecutor Ryan Styer expects a formal indictment once he presents the case to grand jurors in the next month or so.
