Students learning to become Leaders of Tomorrow

| March 4, 2022

NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (Mar. 4, 2022) – An annual gathering meant to inspire and guide area high school juniors and seniors to step up in life is returning to Kent State Tuscarawas today.

Coordinating committee member Diane Lautenschleger says Leadership Tuscarawas has its Leaders of Tomorrow Summit today from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center.

The Leaders of Tomorrow Summit is all about providing some life lessons; mentoring, workshops, information that really help our youth form foundational leadership within all of them,” said Lautenschleger.

Lautenschleger says area schools let the kids out of class to attend.

You know we always say our strongest partner to the project and really the folks that make it a success are the schools are the schools who really do see the value in the day that we pull together,” she said.

Lautenschleger says they are having five speakers from a variety of professions giving TED Talk-style presentations, including Tuscarawas County Sheriff Orvis Campbell.

Each is getting 12 minutes to share their message in a dynamic way.

Attending students are also being entered into a chance to win one of several scholarships that are being given away.
