Truck overturns while swerving to avoid deer, minor injuries reported
NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (April 28, 2025) – The State Highway Patrol says two people avoided serious injury when their pickup truck rolled over while swerving to miss a deer late Sunday night east of Zoarville.
New Philadelphia Post Sgt. Clinton Armstrong says it happened on state Route 212 shortly before 11 p.m.
Armstrong says the 37-year-old driver from the Sherrodsville area and the 43-year-old Canton passenger were taken to Aultman Hospital for evaluation.
Authorities were on scene until just before 1 a.m. this morning.
Armstrong says the driver was cited for failure to control.
