Uhrichsville PD targeting West side drug dealers

| February 27, 2023

UHRICHSVILLE (WJER) (Feb. 27, 2023) – Police are continuing to crack down on drug trafficking in the city.

That’s according to Mayor Mark Haney, who recently met with a group of West side residents concerned about people peddling drugs in their neighborhoods.

“There’s gonna be a big push on that area. We have a certain area that we’ve kind of square out and looked at, and that area there’s going to be a big push on the issue. We thought we had resolved it but it’s just moved a little further.”

Haney put dealers on notice during Thursday’s city council meeting, vowing to have them arrested and prosecuted. He says the crackdown is already producing results, highlighting the warrant search officers executed at a West end home a couple of weeks ago.

“There was two arrests in that house. I think there was five or seven people. I can’t remember who all was in the house. I read the report, and we knew what was going on.”

Haney reminds residents that they can report suspicious activity anonymously by calling the Uhrichsville Police Department’s non-emergency line at 740-922-1212.
