Unofficial May 3, 2022 election results

NEW PHILADELPHIA (May 4, 2022)  – The November general election is starting to take shape following the unofficial results from Tuesday’s first primary of this election season.

Republican Kristin Zemis is set to face Democrat Laurie Green for Tuscarawas County Commissioner.

Democrat Louis Lyras will be the challenger for Republican 6th District Congressman Bill Johnson while Republican 12th District Congressman Troy Balderson is going against Democrat Amy Rippel-Elton.

“Hillbilly Elegy” author JD Vance won Ohio’s GOP Senate primary and will face Democrat Tim Ryan in November.

Democrat Nan Whaley will take on Republican Governor Mike DeWine in the general election.

Ohio’s second primary for state legislative candidates is expected to be held in early August after their district maps are finalized.
