Voters to determine outcomes of numerous tax issues and races today

| November 4, 2025

NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (Nov. 4, 2025) Election Day is here. Polls are open until 7:30 p.m. tonight.

The New Philadelphia City School District is on the ballot for the third time trying to pass a 6.2-mill bond issue and 1-mill levy to build and maintain new schools.

Countywide, three agencies are asking voters to pay a bit more in property taxes.

The Tuscarawas County Library system is asking voters, except those in Dover and Newcomerstown, for a replacement levy that would cost about $10 more per $100,000 of property value annually. The ADAMHS Board is seeking about $6 more a year for mental health services. The Senior Center is asking for a $14 annual increase.

There are also several renewals that would not increase taxes. Many local candidate races are unopposed.

In Dover, there are five candidates seeking three at-large council seats. In New Philadelphia, four candidates are running for two school board seats. The Indian Valley and Strasburg School Boards each have four candidates for three seats.
