Work on new Clay Capital Heritage Museum progressing

| July 21, 2025

UHRICHSVILLE (WJER) (July 21, 2025) – The new home of the Clay Capital Heritage Museum could be ready for a partial opening in the spring.

The building at the corner of East Third and North Main will feature two floors highlighting the area’s history as the one-time Clay Capital of the world.

The Dennison Railroad Depot Board of Trustees oversees the museum.

Depot Director Wendy Zucal says the first floor is coming together quickly and could be ready to open when the Ohio 250 Buckeye Train rolls through in April. The museum is still actively seeking grants and other donations.

She says the goal is to make a museum corridor between the city and Dennison’s Railroad Depot.

Each museum is owned by its respective municipality.
