Fair week continues with livestock auctions and Family Day
DOVER (WJER) (Sept. 21, 2023) – This is the day 4-H members with large animal projects at the Tuscarawas County Fair have been working toward for months.
The livestock sales are happening in the main arena at the fair today, starting with hogs at noon, then market steers and lambs beginning at 4 p.m.
Marketing Coordinator Jonna Cronebaugh says it’s being live-streamed through Kaufman Auctions, so people are bidding on-line and in-person simultaneously. The sales brought in a record of more than $1.3 million dollars for the kids in 2022.
It’s also Family Day at the fair with discounts on admissions and rides. Tonight’s entertainment is the free Touch-A-Truck event at the grandstand at 6 p.m.
The small animal sale will then be on Saturday at the fair at 3 p.m. featuring goats, turkeys, ducks, rabbits, and chickens.
