Swiss Festival underway in Sugarcreek
SUGARCREEK (WJER) (Sept. 27, 2024) – The Ohio Swiss Festival this weekend features a lineup of signature offerings, from the apple fritters to the alphorns.
Spokeswoman Bev Keller says the parades also are beloved traditions with the Kiddie Parade today at 2 p.m. and the Antique Car Parade and Grand Parade beginning at 1:50 p.m. Saturday.
The Steinstossen stone-throwing competition is a festival trademark, with three sessions over today and Saturday.
Saturday also features contests for yodeling, cheese-eating, and Swiss costumes at 12:30.
There’s plenty of entertainment, a craft beer tent and wine and cheese tasting at the firehouse.
