Report cards: Tuscarawas County districts meet state standards, three exceed them

COLUMBUS – State report cards are out for Ohio School Districts, and Tuscarawas County districts have all met the state standards.
That means they scored at least three stars on a five-star ranking system.
Three county school districts exceeded state standards – Tusky Valley, Indian Valley and Garaway.
The report cards factor in state test scores, graduation rate, student improvement and readiness for after high school. The Ohio Department of Education says the report cards are just a part of Ohio’s education story and encourages Ohioans to get a more complete picture by visiting schools and their websites and talking to educators.
In Tuscarawas County, Tusky Valley and Indian Valley got the highest marks with 4.5.
Garaway is at 4.
Dover, New Philadelphia, Newcomerstown and Strasburg are at 3.5.
Claymont is at 3.
Individual schools also get graded on a 5-star scale. East and West Elementary Schools in New Philadelphia earned 5-star rankings.
