Alcohol suspected in crash that kills Newcomerstown man
NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (Dec. 4, 2025) – State troopers say they believe alcohol was a factor in a single vehicle crash that killed a Newcomerstown man just south of town.
The State Highway Patrol New Philadelphia post says 39-year-old Howard Boor Jr. was the driver of a pickup truck southbound on Stocker Ridge Road in Oxford Township that went off the right side of the roadway, struck an embankment, and then overturned into a tree at about 6:15 p.m. Wednesday.
Boor was thrown from the truck. The Tuscarawas County Coroner’s Office pronounced him dead at the scene.
Troopers say the crash remains under investigation.
