FAIRFIELD TWP. (WJER) (April 15, 2026) – No one was injured after a candle sparked a house fire Tuesday afternoon on Raber Road Northeast in Fairfield Township.
Fire Chief Nathan Ritenour said the fire began around 1:15 p.m. in the master bathroom when a candle flame spread to the wall.
The family was home at the time and was able to evacuate safely.
The fire caused heavy smoke damage to the master bathroom and walk‑in closet, with heat intense enough to blow out two bathroom windows.
Crews remained on scene for more than two hours.
