Fair organizers keeping admission prices the same as 2021

| August 18, 2022

DOVER (WJER) (Aug. 18, 2022) – Inflation may be driving up prices everywhere, but you won’t have to pay more to get into the Tuscarawas County Fair this year.

Board President Reb Billman says admission prices remain unchanged from 2021 at five bucks for fairgoers 3 and up and three dollars for seniors.

“I think we are one of the very few fairs in the state of Ohio that did not raise our prices this year.”

Meanwhile, Billman says they’re trying to finish up some project’s before the event’s return in September. He says there’s still some electrical work to do in the barns, and they’re also trying to replace the chain link fence along North Wooster Avenue.

“It will all be completed but they sent the wrong clips, so we’re waiting for the slow boat from China for the clips. [We] don’t know when they’re gonna get here but they guaranteed me it would be ready by the fair.”

The fair opens on September 19th and runs through the 25th. The grandstand lineup is similar to last year with a rodeo on Monday, a marching band showcase Tuesday, tractor pulls Thursday through Saturday, and the demolition derby Sunday. There won’t be any motocross races or monster trucks. However, organizers are bringing back the stunt show.

“They roll some cars, they jump through hoops of flames, jump over cars. All kinds of stuff,” Billman says.

Grandstand tickets will be available at the gate during the fair, or you can buy them ahead of time through the Kent State Tuscarawas Performing Arts Center.
