59-year-old charged with sex crimes against children

| July 13, 2022

NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (July 13, 2022) – A city man remains behind bars following his arrest in a child sex abuse case.

59-year-old Jeffrey Pringle is charged in a criminal complaint filed in Municipal Court Tuesday with rape and gross sexual imposition. It alleges that the crimes involved two juvenile victims and spanned more than seven years, beginning when one of them was 5. New Philadelphia Police detectives investigated the crimes and arrested Pringle, who was transferred from the city jail to the Tuscarawas County Justice Center following his initial court appearance Tuesday morning. Magistrate Christine Weimer set Pringle’s bond at $750,000 and scheduled a preliminary hearing a week from today to determine whether there’s probable cause to send the case Common Pleas Court for review by a grand jury.
