Chris Hart brings history to life at Main Library

/ April 5, 2023

The event

Professional actor Chris Hart will bring history to life through stories of ordinary people at the Main Library of the Tuscarawas County Public Library System this spring. Hart, who researches and writes his own material, seeks out footnote people in history to portray and bring to life.

Hart is scheduled to perform:

  • Elementary, My Dear Watson…: Wednesday, February 1st at 6:30 PM

Join Hart to explore the life and times of the world’s first and greatest consulting detective, Sherlock Holmes. Learn why Holmes wore a deerstalker hat, why Dr. Watson was his faithful partner, and who was the only woman he admired.

  • Riding the Rough Rails: Wednesday, March 1st at 6:30 PM

Some may call him a bum, a tramp, or a hobo, but when you meet Professor Job, you will see he is a true Knight of the Rails.

  • Baseball’s Cyclone: Wednesday, March 15th at 6:30 PM

Hart will perform this first-person portrayal of Denton “Cy” Young as he reminisces life in the early days of major league baseball, setting records, and the ups and downs of his 20+ year career. And you might just learn why they called him Cy!

  • Onstage: Wednesday, April 5th at 6:30 PM

Hart will portray Harry Hawk, an actor who was on stage during the Lincoln assassination. He will recall the world of the actors and crew before and after an event that, from that moment on, would be a defining moment in their lives.
