Dover Library hosts blood screening and drive
The event
Dover Public Library often partners with local health organizations to offer important services to the community. On Friday, May 10, the library will host a blood screening as well as a community blood drive.
Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital will offer an A1c Screening in the morning from 9:00 to 11:00. This non-fasting fingerstick screening test measures your average blood sugar over the past 2 to 3 months and allows people to better manage their blood sugar level, which is key in reducing health complications of diabetes. The cost is $5.00. To register, call the hospital at 330.602.0779.
That same afternoon from noon till 3:00, Vitalant will conduct a blood drive. Please eat before you donate. Bring a photo ID and a list of any medications you take. Appointments are preferred. To make an appointment and earn reward points, go to vitalant.org and search with Blood Drive Code: U5051. Both the screening and the blood drive will take place on Friday, May 10 in the community room at the library, located at 525 N. Walnut Street, Dover.
