Farmers market to host Latino Heritage Day Wednesday

| August 11, 2025

Dover (WJER) (Aug. 11, 2025)  – The Tuscarawas Valley Farmers Market is inviting visitors to come explore some foods, agricultural practices, and crafting traditions of the Mayan community this week.

Volunteers Mark McKenzie and Eva McClave say the market is hosting its fourth annual Latino Heritage Day Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the county fairgrounds.

There will be demonstrations of how colorful Hispanic blouses are made through backstrap loom-weaving techniques. Visitors can also give it a try.

The cooking demonstration at 5 p.m. at the Clover Cafe will feature samples of chuchitos, or a type of tamale using masa corn dough.
