Small kitchen fire temporarily closes Blazin’ Burgers

| February 4, 2026

DOVER (WJER) (Feb. 4. 2026) — Blazin’ Burgers will remain closed temporarily following a small kitchen fire Tuesday afternoon, according to the restaurant and local firefighters.

In a social media post, operators of the North Crater Avenue restaurant said a suspected gas leak caused a grill fire that would not go out on its own. Staff called the fire department as a precaution to prevent the situation from worsening. No one was injured, and all employees were reported safe. The restaurant said it will need to replace the grill and fully sanitize the kitchen before reopening.

Dover firefighters confirmed they were dispatched to the restaurant at 4:31 p.m. Crews found a small fire contained to one of the kitchen grills, which had already been controlled by restaurant workers. Firefighters completed extinguishment using a small extinguisher and determined the fire did not spread to the building or other contents. No injuries were reported. Firefighters were on scene for just over a half hour.

The fire department said the business will remain closed temporarily while minor repairs are made. Blazin’ Burgers thanked customers for their support and said it plans to reopen as soon as repairs and cleaning are completed.
