NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (Feb. 23, 2026)  – Donations continue to grow for the family of 18‑year‑old Kyra Bunton of New Philadelphia, who was killed Friday evening in a single‑vehicle crash in Carroll County.

A GoFundMe created to support a memorial for Bunton has surpassed $9,000 toward its $14,000 goal, as of Monday morning.

According to the State Highway Patrol, Bunton was driving east on County Road 22 when her car went off the left side of the road and overturned just east of Leesville, ejecting her from the vehicle. She died at the scene.

An 18‑year‑old passenger from Midvale was treated and released with minor injuries, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
