NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (April 18, 2024) – The director of the Noah’s Hope Child Advocacy Center is thanking everyone who supported their first-ever fundraising gala.

Mandy Willet says last Saturday’s ‘We Battle for Kids’ event at the Kent Tusc Performing Arts Center ended up bringing in around $85,000  for the organization that provides trauma-focused services to abused children and their families.

“This community has always stood behind Noah’s Hope CAC from the time we opened our doors, and those businesses and individuals are not only supporting Noah’s Hope, but they are supporting other program partners of ours. They’re supporting schools. They’re supporting baseball fields. So Tuscarawas County is truly one that stands behind its future because the children of the count are our future.”

Plans are already in the works for the next Noah’s Hope gala.

“Actually, the date just got set yesterday. It’s going to be April 12, 2025. We will have a new venue, and that will be at Rustic Ridge in New Philadelphia.”

The center served 179 kids in 2023 – the most ever – and is on track to surpass that number this year. Willet says the money raised last weekend couldn’t have come at a better time as the federal funding that helps sustain the operation is being cut by 43-percent in the next grant cycle.
