Wills elected as Ohio GOP vice chair
NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (April 30, 2024) – Tuscarawas County is gaining more influence atop the GOP at the state level.
Tuscarawas County Republican Party Chair Doug Wills was elected as the Ohio Republican Party vice chair for a two-year term by his fellow State Central Committee members during their recent re-organizational meeting.
Wills says he is very proud and honored to hold this position.
“Our chairman (Alex Triantafilou) is a great chairman and he’s from Cincinnati,” said Wills. “I felt northeast Ohio needed to be represented.”
Wills says he ran on a platform highlighting his background in agriculture and business, as well as his support of the oil and gas industry.
“I see this being a very good thing for Tuscarawas County,” he said. “It helps me continue to bring these issues to the forefront.”
Wills says his goals will be to help Republicans get elected in the state and federal elections this fall and making sure the local Republican Party chapters remain strong.
Wills plans to continue serving in his other roles including as the Tuscarawas County GOP chair and on Tuscarawas County’s Board of Elections and Agricultural Board.
